I love these postures! Archer's sequence is one of my favorite combinations to teach and practice, especially the full on balancing variations! In the 'balanced' postures, one basically attempts the final position in a full 'pistol' squat. By leaning forward enough, with all of the weight in the foot, one can lift, first using the hands for support on the floor, then the 'hands free' final variation might be possible. This requires a thorough warm-up and quite a bit of flexibility in the knees, and this should not be attempted while any knee issues are present.
