What is the best advice you've ever heard?
After my weekly Hatha Yoga (7:30 am - 8:30 am) class at the Hines Center for Spirituality, I saw this grand question in the lobby from the 'pop-up practices ( #popuppractices )' group. I am glad they posed such a phrase. Personally, I do not have an immediate answer to this but upon reflection, I returned to the quotes that have helped me the most...
Personal Response #1: "We must always trust in the difficult, (then what happens now appears to us as the most alien will become our most intimate and trusted experience)." - Rainer Maria Rilke
Brilliant advice! I rely on this quote when I catch myself amidst a new challenge. Every time I think of this I smile and am filled with peace.
Personal Response #2: "Follow to your heart / gut" - unknown
This statement is great because it allows me to return to my 'Self' and act from within first. I have leaned on this simple quote countless times. Intuition becomes more noticeable when we reflect for ourselves.
Personal Response #3: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi
With courage, this quote allows me to live by my morals. When I find the truth, I cannot turn away from it, and thus we must stop talking and start doing!
